Letting Go
As part of my morning routine, I select a reflection card from a deck I had bought for my business (View Changer cards). One of the cards this week read, "What do I need to let go of to create room for what really matters?" My first reaction was…ooh, that's an excellent question so I'm now sharing it with you to consider.
So often we keep filling our schedules, our homes, our expectations for ourselves, and our relationships with more stuff. Rarely do we take the time to think about all that we're carrying with us. I often talk about this as a backpack full of rocks. When we keep adding, it gets really heavy, and we end up hunched over or falling to our knees due to the weight.
Wouldn't it be nice to be walking through life with the lightest backpack possible? Dropping out the big, heavy rocks you no longer need will allow you so much more energy for the things that are most meaningful for you.
I'd start by tossing out:
✔️Past disappointments
✔️Unreasonable expectations for yourself or others
✔️Worry about what others will think about your choices
✔️Stories you tell yourself that don't serve you being the person you want to be
